Two weeks in Bolivia on an XR650

Motorcycle Used: Honda XR650

Type of roads/trails: one and two lane dirt roads, some highway

Difficulty: Mostly very easy dirt roads but traffic can be a hazard as well as dust and thousand foot drops with no guardrails.

Ride Description: SPOT log from my Bolivia trip in early Aug of '13. 13 days. Started in La Paz and each night was: Sorata, Conzata, Mapiri, Guanay, 3 days on two rivers (Caca, Beni), Rurrenabaque, Caranavi, Coroico, Chulamani, Quime, Cochabamba. First part of route truncated but you simply follow the main roads from La Paz to Sorata, Conzata, Mapiri, Guanay. No mystery there really. Boarded boat at Guanay and spend three days on some Amazonian rivers and then resumed at Rurrenabaque. Cool zipline at Yolosa, which is near Coroico and the base of the "road of death." Rode to 15,537 feet in elevation outside Quime. Flew in to La Paz and out of Cochabamba. This was a tour I did with Bolivia Bound Adventures (Cory Rowden).
